A WW2 B-25 Bomber known as "Grumpy" will be stopping in Edmonton to visit
the Alberta Aviation Museum.

"Grumpy" a B25D Model Mitchell bomber has just flown the North Atlantic
Ocean and is now on a transcontinental journey to her new home at Paine
Field Washington. "Grumpy" is one of the few B25's in the world that is
still in its full WW2 colors and configuration...in this case 180 Squadron
of the Royal Air Force, unusual in itself as most are marked as United
States Aircraft.

The Alberta Aviation Museum has been chosen as one of the very few Canadian stops because of our special history with the B25 and a special person in the Museum membership, Fred Guest.

Mr. Guest was a 20 year old Captain on 180 Squadron RAF B25s flying daylight combat missions over occupied Europe during WW2. Post War Mr. Guest had a distinguished flying career, part of it with 418 City of Edmonton Squadron.

We are hoping that "Grumpy" and Mr. Guest will be able to meet when the B25
arrives late today (Monday August 31) or tomorrow (Tuesday September 1)

A special thanks to Mr. John Sessions of the Historic Flight Foundation of
Paine Field Washington for making this visit possible. We look forward to a
future of working together with Mr. Sessions and HFF.

We will update by phone and e-mail as information comes availabile.
