Greetings everyone! I have been asked by one of my supervisors to check around for contact information of someone or some group that has a DC-3 for hire and would be available TOMORROW (9/25/09). I work for Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. We are having a new building dedication Friday, and one of the major donors flew DC-3's while going to school here at Purdue. I believe the aircraft would just be on static display. I'm not sure about all the details, but I would put the interest party in touch with my supervisor. I know this is short notice, but any help would be very appreicated!

Thanks!

Have you tried the FAA database?

What about Rhoades Aviation down at Columbus, In (Bakalar). They used to have quite a few or at least maybe they can give you some more contact info.
Good Luck.

PJ: Someone at work thought of Rhoades after I posted my update....

Todd H: I called Norm, and also talked to my supervisor....think Yankee Doodle my work out....

Checking Flight Aware.com (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N8704) this morning shows the Yankee Air Force's C-47 N8704 is scheduled to depart Willow Run (KYIP) for Purdue University (KLAF) on an IFR flight plan at 9:10am EDT. A cruise speed of 140 kts at 4000' is forecasted with a planned arrival time of 10:30am.

It has been fun to see this come together so quickly. I hope Yankee Doodle has an excellent flight. ;)
