Does anyone know if an F-86D is still on display in Sturgis, SD?
According to Mike's Locator site it is on display near the corner of Douglas and Edmonds Streets. I'll be in that part of the country next week, and will try and get pictures of it if it is still there. TIA

I've been to Sturgis every year for the rally. I was just there 2 weeks ago. I've never seen any planes there.

BE WARNED... That marker is a low level bright red, which means that F-86 could be anywhere in town if at all.

OK then. Based on that statement I'll take it out of the database.
Now I have just noticed I have a F-86 noted in Sturgis Kentucky. Coincidence? No, the Sturgis, SD, F-86 reference is likely a mistake and double count of the Stugis, Kentucky location. Can anyone confirm there is a F-86 in Sturgis, Kentucky? It is not noted in Andy Marden's USA Military Out of Service, so I doubt it is there either. Perhaps one was once display but was removed some time ago?

Mike,
F-86D 52-3694 used to be displayed at Sturgis, Kentucky. It has not been seen since the mid 1970s so I suspect it was scrapped many years ago, like many others.
