this is really great news. i saw this plane up on those poles at OKC fairgrounds, then last summer i saw it here on the ground in peices. to see it up on it's gear is really GREAT. to you folks at Kansas Aviation Museum, GREAT JOB. keep up the good work!

Glad to see they finally came through for money to get it put together again. It's been about 2 years without it having wings or landing gear. Looks much better than it has. I was involved shortly after it arrived at KAM to help with it, but never was able to make much progress because lack of interest and funding. Good to see others do what I couldn't.

I just wish the cockpit wasn't gutted. It's just a shell of a B-47, but it's still very cool.

I was able to get by there for a couple of hours last Saturday. They have some interesting displays and a few neat aircraft under restoration. Some of the outside airframes were a little rough though. It was fairly windy and the right elevator on the B-52 kept banging up and down and the wheel wells for the outrigger gear had some bird nests and a lot of whitewash on the gear doors. There was enough wind to make the old BUFF rock back and forth on it's outrigger wheels. The old Art Deco terminal is really neat and I'd love to see it when they get it all finished up. They were preparing for a fund raising concert while we were there so we had to hurry a bit since we got there rather late. Someone had donated a huge collection of scale models that were mostly WWII but had some jets and included some rarer WWII types like the BV-141 and the Vultee Vengeance.
