Everytime I look at these sorts of photos of wartime crew the guys look like they're in their mid 40's not early to mid 20's

Thats a great pics Jack, it could almost be a black and white renactment pics from today... except the renactors would make sure there was no 'modern' sweat bands on show!!

My vote for 'coolest B-17 guy' goes to 'Snuffy' Smith, a gunner in the 100th that they had to go get from KP duty he was on for some infraction, so the General could pin his CMH on him-that's a cool dude!
