Looking for recent photo of B-17F N17W at Boeing Field

I'm looking for a good photo of N17W either being moved from the storage hangar to the Clay Lacy hangar, or the airplane as it sits now in the Clay Lacy hangar. The right photo will go into the 4th Edition update of Final Cut with full credit, of course. I'll need a high resolution file of the photo. Please PM me if you have anything available. I was there a couple of weeks ago; you'd think I would have gotten what I needed then but, sadly, no.

I was told recently that the B=17 and B-29 were both in the south end of the large hanger at 7777 Perimeter Rd.S. at Boeing Field. That would be the North-South half of the hanger. I have seen the doors open once or twice, but it has been cold here for a couple of weeks. When it warms up they will most likely be open more.

Thanks all for this. I did get a couple of good photos for use and they are plugged into the book layout already. I saw the B-17 in the Lacy hangar a couple of weeks ago. I'll have to call up there and see what the current situation is.

I'd hope they don't take second place to the efforts to get (and if successful, build a annex for) the Space Shuttle.
IF anyplace NEEDS a B-17 on public display, it's Seattle.

Maybe the info is on WIX somewhere, but are they building a new building to "cover" for the 747, Connie, Concord etc at the Museum of Flight? I drive by it and see the construction going on, but I am not up to date on the MOF or what they are doing. Please enlighten me.

Seattle is an awful place to store planes outside for any length of time.

The Shuttle would bring mass amounts of publicity, tourism and $$ to the area and museum. I would hope the annex would be large enough for the Shuttle, B-29, B-17, Connie, etc. One can only hope...

The building being constructed will be for the SHUTTLE, the plan is to try and raise money afterwards for another big building to cover the airliners next to the Development Center on the West side of..................are you guys from out of town ready? East Marginal Way South, I wish that was part of my address so I could give it to 'Clive' in Mumbi when I call tech support.

I look forward to the book. Glad I could be of help to you.

While access to the bombers isn't easy nowadays i'm just glad they're undercover. With a heads up to the Museum they usually will try to accomodate visitors to them.

Personally, I feel the Bombers and other outdoor aircraft should be a priority over a Shuttle, but I can see how one would bring in many more visitors over a long time ultimately leading to building a nice home for the Boeing jets, Connie & bombers.

The B-17 is planned to be on outdoor display on the lawn of the museum During July-August, then will return to indoor storage with the B-29.
