I was conversing with a fellow WIXer about how to ID a Harpoon with the data plates missing...I had noticed on Pooner's PV-2, the markings stenciled on the center-section wing root rib...

The last 4 numbers of the Lockheed production serial number...1236, which was short for 15-1236....I didn't know if that was typical of all PVs or just something on Pooners Poon.....
When we pulled the wings off Annie last May, I found the same there..

Same as on Pooners, both sides...
I am wondering if all Lockheed's aircraft are marked in this fashion?
Has anyone noticed this on P-38s, Connies, T-33s..etc..????
