While we were there, I wanted to see how the B-25 restoration was going and snapped a few pics.

The Lancaster arrives this weekend, I’ll try to get down and take some pics and add them here.

Cheers... Mark

Get pictures!

Looks like the B-25 is coming along very nicely. I saw it a few years ago and it was still sitting outside awaiting attention.

Thanks for posting.

Cheers,

David

Peter, I’m just the poster... Dan was the pilot and he said he was living his dream. He said he first saw the Golden Hawks when he was six and now he’s flying the same jet. He was a pleasure to talk with and a gentleman to all that talked to him

Well we waited for about an hour and a half Friday for her arrival. Thank you to the museum’s Exec. Director Thomas for posting updates on the delay as she had to skirt some bad weather. We took up a position south of the airfield near some ball diamonds as I thought it would be the best vantage point. There were people scattered all around the air field with cameras and camcorders. Well it turns out I picked the best spot. She came in from the east and did a north to south low pass just under a hundred feet. I’ll post a short video clip later so you can share the thrill of hearing four Rolls Royce Merlin engines roaring overhead. Here’s some static pics in the mean time.

Nice B-25 restoration. Are they planning on adding a top turret or are they restoring it as a TB-25?
