The N3N from the West Houston Squadron of the CAF had it's first flight, (in several years) today.

Congrats! Air beneath her wings!!!!! Boy is she YELLOW!!! Is there any other color? I'll have to see if I can drop by and see in person later this month, my sis just bought a house less than a mile from the airport, sounds like a good excuse to drop by!!!! What are the typical hours of operation there?

John,
Any sqwuaks? Or is it RTS? I hope, I hope, I hope!

Chris- PM me when you get ready to come to town.
I am members of both WHS and GCW and we can get you a peek at all the good stuff, if WHS hasn't changed the locks! :D

If you are feeling brave I might even take you up in an Aeronca Champ I am about to fly back from Virginia.

Sounds like a plan Spanner, I don't know just what our schedule is yet between Houston, Canyon and SanAntonio, I'll shoot you a shout when I have a clue! At my folks place up at Bear Creek a couple trips ago, the Helldiver, a T-6 and a Tora bird flew over the house and I was practically knocking family members over rushing to get out the door with my camera!! They should know my now not to get in my way when the drone of big round engines is heard!!! Looks like WHS is a much quieter airfield with a nice green background to shoot against. No competition with the SW Shamu!

Holedigger...

There is usually someone at the hangar every Saturday & Sunday after 10:00am. Drop Spanner or me a PM and let us know you are coming out and we can let someone at the hangar expect you.

As too the amount of Yellow... Yup, completely yellow right now, but there are plans in the works to get the rudder painted and possibly stripes on the underside of the wings. There has to be a little more research so it will be correct.

Spanner.....

A couple minor squaks.

NO NO NO.............dont touch it!!!!! You are almost perfect for a 1940 paint scheme!!!! The only thing I could gig you on is that the aircraft number should be farther foreward up the fuselage. Its normally just aft of the rear cockpit. There are to many silly stearmans out there with those colored tails.
