Saw on their website (no pictures) TFC has an Oscar, and it describes it as being "harassed hydraulics" and mangled. Anyone have any pictures of this one?

Do you have a direct link to where you read that? I looked at the official FHC website and couldn't find any mention of it. It's possible I might have missed it.

I didn't know that FHC has 2 Oscars. It sounds like the 2nd one is a mangled mess. The only Oscars that might be it are possibly the remains from the Kurile Islands expedition recovery by Doug Champlain, the remains of one of the Hunt brothers expedition from Russia a few years back or possibly the "rumored" remains that were held by TFC in England a few years back. I don't know if the TFC Oscar has ever been verified though.

Anyone else? Sorry I'm not much help, that's all I know.

Anyone know where Vulcan sourced this 2nd Oscar from?

Howdy All

The Ki-43 Oscar that is with "The Fighter Collection" (TFC) at Duxford, UK came from Rob Greinert "Jungle Bob" via the Australian War Memorial. Being a Government Organisation, not sure why it wasn't put through a "Tender"process.
This would have allowed any party to put a bid in rather than one individual obtaining it.

Disregard all of this. Sorry, I confused FHC with TFC. Too much alphabet soup I guess.

I've seen the Fighter collection examples, they are good examples but would require a huge amount of work to get flying. They are held in the collections "waiting room" store.
