Oshkosh Heritage Flight 07/28/2009

Tue Jul 28, 2009 8:47 pm

We had a great Heritage Flight out at Oshkosh this evening, P-51, F-86 and A-10. One of these days I'll break down and get a decent lens so I can get some better air to ground shots.

Dan--

That's beautiful. I always get that "hey...there's a tennis ball stuck in my throat" feeling whenever I see any sort of Heritage Flight.

Interesting, BTW, that the Korean War airplane is the fastest of these three!

...Anyone else think the Hog from some angles looks faintly Mitchell-like? Here's a Heritage Flight to try: an A-10...and B-25H "Barbie III". Two big, mean twin-finned brutes, each with a huge cannon sticking out the front...

Years ago, there was a cartoon in the CAF Dispatch that showed the evolution from the A-10 into the ultimate ground attack plane, a B-25.
