WWII places to see in Europe?

Hello All,
will be visiting Europe in September for work. First planned stop is Hannover to visit the CWGC Cemetery, I have a family member buried there after being shot down Sept '43 in a Lancaster. overnight in Hannover then am looking for places to go for Monday, and end up in Brussels Tuesday and Wednesday. Rest of the week work related.
Am planning on seeing the Air Museum once in Brussels, but do any of you have places that you would recommend. I was considering Ypres and the WWI tours, also Arnhem-anything there?, any other places worth seeing and staying overnight , probable will just pre book on trains and stay at B&B's.
appreciate any leads, thanks in advance-ill take pics to post!

If you have time to make it to Southern Poland, then Auschwitz is definitely worth the visit. If not then I recommend Dachau, near Munich.

The American Cemetery in Normandy is a must see at least once in your life.

To get there from Brussels you'd be best off renting a car; it's about a 4 hour drive.

Have just got back from a battlefield tour of the Operation Market Garden areas.

Still a fair bit to see - some good museums - most of the bridges are intact or are re-built to look the same - at the arhem bridge you can still see bullet holes in the concrete stantions that support the bridge.

Osterbeek is amazing to see - especially the cemetary.

Have a good trip.

September is perfect for Arnhem is you are over there for the 19th and 20th September as it's the 65th Anniversary of Market Garden and probably the last big rememberence event so there will be lots to see. Mingle with the vets in the bars in town etc.

Massed C-47 para drop on Ginkel Heath on the Saturday and of course you have to witness the children placing flowers on every grave on the Sunday morning in Oosterbeek cemetry.

Do not miss that opportunity if you can, I was there for the 55th anniversary, and it was one of the most moving weekends of my life.

Like Firebird said, September is perfect for Market Garden related BFTs! If the final programm is there, I can post it here if you'd like.

If you stay in Brussels, be sure to visit the American cemeteries in Margraten (Netherlands), Henri-Chappele and Neupre (both Belgium). All can be reached from Brussels in an hour or so.

I would also suggest going to Liberty Park in the Netherlands, especially the Marshall halls are impressive: http://www.oorlogsmuseum-overloon.nl/

Great ideas , thanks everyone, if you can post the program for Arnhem, that would be fantastic, ill try to go a day earlier and catch that . Ill also look into the Concentration Camps.

WOW! Four M18 Hellcats and two M8 Greyhounds. Two of the vehicles I would most like to own... not to mention all of those Shermans. That's a pretty impressive lineup!

I would also highly recommend Ypres, having just returned from a weekend visit. The nightly ceremony at the Menin Gate is one thing that anyone with even the slightest interest in history should experience. Go to the Gate more than once, the first night we just wandered up to see it after the evening ritual, it was all peace and quiet and I am not ashamed to admit that I wept for the fallen.

In the South of France is the village of Oradour-sur-Glane. I have yet to see it but it can also break your heart.
