The following is a promotional item for the Cavanaugh Flight Museum.

Ever been to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison, Texas?

What did you think about it as a museum?

Was it good enough that you would vote for it in a museum poll?

Here is your chance to take a few minutes and help out the Cavanaugh Flight Museum by logging in and voting for the museum in this “Best of the WFAA-List” area poll. If you want, you can also write something about your last visit.

What is the Best of the WFAA-List?
- An online guide to local businesses that launched with a contest starting 5/11/2009. Voting is open until July 2nd 2009. The guide will be available year-round.

You can vote for the Cavanaugh Flight Museum by going to http://alist.wfaa.com/cavanaugh-flight-museum/biz/21220 or by going to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum web page at www.cavanaughflightmuseum.com and selecting the vote panel.

It does require that you sign up on the FWAA site, but that is just to ensure that there is only one vote per email address. You can create any account name you want. For those outside the USA, the zip code for the Cavanaugh is 75081. The poll will send an email to the email address given. Just open that email, and go to the link given to complete the voting process.

Thank you for any assistance you can give in helping to increase the “visibility” of the Cavanaugh Flight Museum within the local market place.

Thanks.
Julian Banks

Mods: Please move if this is deemed to be in the wrong place.

As much as I like the place, I wouldn't want folks to vote for it just to run up its numbers.

I wonder where the photos came from? The one's for CFM are old, but more creative than the one's for Frontiers of Flight or Age of Steam (renamed Museum of the American Railroad, and due to relocate in Frisco). Since there are Fort Worth locations listed, shouldn't the Grapevine Rail Road, C.R. Smith or Vintage Flying Museum (and the others associated with it) be included?

I will probably still vote for Cavanaugh, Frontiers of Flight would be more kid, and non-aircraft freak, friendly though. And its hard to beat Grapevine RR for family time.

Oh, and of the 26 listed, I have been to 19 of them. And can think of several they left out.

As Director, I agree with Cozmo. I wouldn't want to just runup the numbers. This isn't a presidential vote. But if you've been and liked, we do apprieciate your vote and comments. By the way, the zip code is 75001

In order to stay within the guidelines of the WFAA-List Contest Rules that states “Businesses are encouraged to invite their customers to vote online”, I started the topic with the following statements:

I was making use of a forum that is frequented by many aviation enthusiasts, who may or may not be past/current visitors to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, to notify them of an independent poll of museums (which included the Cavanaugh Flight Museum), of which they may or may not have been aware, and requesting feedback from those that may be past/current visitors to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, via a response to that independent poll.

I was not looking for the world to vote on something that they know nothing about. I fully agree with you Cozmo when you wrote:

That was not my intention, and it was for that very reason that I started my initial post with the 3 specific questions, as quoted above.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that it was.

The ongoing poll results got turned off yesterday, but last time I checked, Cavanaugh was in fifth place, high enough to rank. Considering the competition (DMA, Nasher and Kimball don't remember what was fourth), I count that as pretty high praise.
