The Liberty Belle at Bolton Field

Sat Jul 11, 2009 9:43 pm

I meant to go to a military vehicle show in Troy, OH today, but the weather prevented that. So I switched my plans once the rain started to slow down enough, and went to see the Belle down at KTZR. Naturally, it was still raining when I got down there, but that hasn't stopped since....well since recently (and it didn't stop the Belle from flying, either!)but anyway:

Taxiing up. I liked the fact that there were no barriers set up (as when the Collings Foundation was here last year) so you could pretty much walk onto the ramp and no one seemed to mind much.

This was only a short stop to pick up the next group of lucky passengers

The Belle's here until tomorrow, for those in the area interested. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Nice Shots despite the rain. Somehow, the B-17 looks more appropriate in the rain. Maybe it's the wartime British weather "look". Thanks for posting them...

I was just thinking the same thing. Great shots man

I liked the photo with the spiraling slip stream coming off the props.

I concur with the previous! Love those contrails off the prop. But weather like that cuts all but the diehards from coming out to see her! :( That doesn't help their budget much.

I like the pictures! They have an "old time feel" in the rain.
Great job!
