ww 2 vintage m -4 -a2 flak helmet recycle for pruning trees

Sun Jul 05, 2009 8:47 pm

i had some high altitude tree pruning tonight, nobody to check me etc, didn't want the wife getting conked on the noggin, nor me, i was the guy on the ladder doing the high wire act. i had the mrs get my ww 2 vintage m-4 -a-2 flak helmet for protection..... worked like a charm. mind you, the branches weren't huge, but as they fell they could have done some damage to you, & your health insurance. it worked out pretty good.

well....neccesity is the mother of invention. next time i would just grab one of the little womans pots and stuff it with a cushion and duct tape it to her head to keep the antiques inside where they are safe. good idea though !!

A Corsair pilot friend of mine painted his barn and used his old parachute harness to hang from to get at those pesky hard to get to areas.
If your ever at Evergreen and see Ken Jernstedt's AVG flight jackety note all the white paint drips all over it. From painting his house in it of course

My father and grandfather used a vintage WWI German M1916 helmet as a paint bucket...

I got most of the white paint stripped off and discovered the original paint intact underneath.
