I know they were working on Jimmy Leeward's racing P-51 "Cloud Dancer". Rumor has it that it is very close to finished and was hoping somone could confirn or deny that.

I haven't been by there to see for myself, but I've heard that the project ran out of money. I got the impression that it might be a few more years yet, before it flies again.

Wow, great news! That is contrary to everything I've heard about Galloping Ghost. But, that's fantastic information!

Update

Jimmy Leeward pulled it a short time ago, possibly because of the money situation. GossHawk had the aircraft structurally fairly complete aft of the firewall and had been waiting on the engine for some time. I started doing the wiring for the Ghost while at GossHawk and had it about 60% complete. I got the impression (but don't know positively) that Leeward was hoping to get some volunteer help to finish the aircraft.

I found out the aircraft is now in Texas at Rick Shanholtzer's shop. It is being worked on again in hopes of maybe making it to Reno this year.
