I know, I know "If you have to ask you can't afford it". But I still wonder how much they are asking for them. I'd like to have one to show my friends where the scar from the 5 stitches in my head came from! Be careful when ducking out of the nose wheel well and walking towards your toolbox in front of the airplane in a hurry. The trailing edge of the prop hurts!! (No, the prop wasn't turning -obviously).

Were those the T-28's that were at Aberdeen Proving Grounds?

They look a lot like them. I remember when I saw them, that the trees were literally growing up around them. They had been almost completely enveloped by a small forest of them! If they are the same aircraft, it's good to see that they made it out of Aberdeen. Hope they find someone to restore them one day.

Cheers,
Richard

This, from couple of years ago:

T28S • FOR SALE • T28 projects B&Cs registered engine, full cowling, canopies, and thousands of new surplus parts inclu. eng.and air frame log books free deliv. in lower 48 660-605-2071 • Contact JOHN M. GIBSON - VINTAGE WARBIRDS located GALLATIN, MO USA • Telephone: 660 605 2071 • Posted May 18, 2007

AFAIK, these T-28s had been stored in Nevada, first at an airport near Vegas [I believe it was Henderson, but I am not sure] and then they were moved to an abandoned mine site, and later, moved to Missouri.

Saludos,

Tulio

The T-28s at Aberdeen were scrapped by Ed Wolverton of TACOM. The NMUSAF and NMNA got into a pi$$ing contest and Ed got tired of playing. He had the T28s and remaining F105Gs scrapped.
