Managed to get my family to stop so that I could photograph the WaKeeney Kansas F-14 on the way back east. Fully, it's:
Grumman F-14A TARPS (ex-F-14A-105-GR) BuNo 160925. Oddly, Joe Baugher has it as being displayed at Rickenbacker ANGB
I'd meant to stop and get this on the way to CO, but the weather didn't cooperate, and this is all I got.
Thankfully it was much clearer this time.
She's been completely declawed, though no one seems to have bothered to block off the intakes and exhausts.
A good portion of the bird looked like this. It looks as if someone had gone through the trouble of masking everything off to paint it, but then had forgotten about it completely. It's in rather rough shape, but nothing some TLC wouldn't be able to fix. I'm only annoyed I couldn't photograph it in more detail given how open it is; but there were time constraints. I'll post some more of these later when I've got more time.
