PB4Y-2 covers

Fri Jun 19, 2009 4:41 pm

I would like some thoughts on covers. We are looking into new covers for our PB4Y-2 Gun Turrets, Cockpit and antenna. What type of material to use, any do's or do not's you have run into. Would like them to look orginal but last a little longer. Thanks for your help - JOE

We had a fellow who does boat covers make the ones for the Harpoon. The fabric is water repelent and supposed to last longer against sunlight than the old cotton duck. The inside is soft so it won't scratch the plexiglass. Lots of colors available including o.d. and khaki. The cover goes around the machine gun barrels and fastens with velcro. I can take some pictures when I'm at the plane tomorrow if you're interested.
