F-100 For Sale

Thu Jun 18, 2009 8:18 pm

Does anyone know if this is Dave Strait's old "Hun"? Also, does anyone have any winning lottery tickets that they don't need?

My dad crewed F-100's, I'd love to just work on one, never mind owning one!! I couldn't afford the fuel to start the engine to idle speed!

This could be the WIX project !

We need 100 members to send 1500.00 or 1000 members to send 150.00 ! We can keep it down here with the other jets. All WIXers are welcome to come down and help polish anytime !

Whatdayamean come "down"? It'd only be natural to keep it in my backyard for the annual AirVenture WIX gathering so lots o' WIXers could take a turn sitting in it making jet noises and polishing it! :)

I would pay $150 just to see 1000 Wixer's agree on anything!

Would my $150 get me a back seat ride?

It sure would be nice if the Collings Foundation or another organization could buy this and keep it in flying condition for air shows. How about seeing this beauty in a USAF Heritage Flight someday??

I love the F-100. Was the Missouri Air National Guard planes when I was little (before the Phantoms then F-15's, now none). Back then we lived on the east side of the airport and the landing pattern was fairly close by. Cool to watch and listen to them. Never forget the howling of the old Phantoms.

If you listen real hard, and stand in just the right spot, you can still hear the Phantom howl ! :D
