Aircraft needs ground up restoration. Aircraft Dissassebled and in storage. No Avionics, some instruments. Aircraft has all major components. Engine gone through in 1995. Aircraft last flown in 1971. DDform 1149 Included. I AM THE OWNER FAA info needs updated. Has Std Airworthiness. Served with the USAF in NY, Ohio and finished career at West Point. We believe it was in Korea too. Now that does sound interesting, except for the "ground up restoration" part. Have you checked with them about pictures?

I'm not a Navion fan, but if that's what you're interested in, go for it.

For $7500? I would daresay it is a good deal. If you do not have the 50k or so that a flying Navion would cost, but can get a little money here and there, and have the patience for a long term project, it is a good deal.

I have learned and concluded, with my PT-19 project, that even if it never flies, the process is what makes this activity interesting. I have gone to many places in this country looking and purchasing parts.

I have benefitted from the generosity of Steve Dennis who donated parts for my project, and I have met great people who have sold me parts for my project.

So, little by little, you can save an airplane [not actually you, Ryan, but anyone who has always said "I would love to own a warbird"]

Doesn't sound too bad...if the basic airframe is sound.
Thewre are a lot of semi-abandoned Navions around so you could probably buy a parts ship for less than buying parts fron Univair or whoever sells Navion spares.

Go for it. If you run out of money, patience or spousal support ...you'd still have a nice static airframe fit for a museum...probably a tax write off.
