I'm trying to either find photos or someone who worked on this P-40K owned by Bob Byrne for a model I'm building... I need to know the color of the cockpit and wheel wells if possible... I've only been able to find a few pictures of the exterior on the internet, but nothing of the inside... Thank you,
Mike

That was one ugly P-40K.
Bright green paint, orange rudder, red spinner, chrome landing gear and gun barrells sticking a foot out the wing.
Mike Smith (RIP) said it looked like a pimp flew it. :P
I have photos taken at Marana but not of the cockpit.

I never liked it after they added the orange rudder... I knew Bob Byrne when I lived in Detroit and what a nice guy... He gave my first ride in T-6, T-28 & P-51... I am trying to build all the fighters he owned and right now I have 4 of the 7 mustangs he owned done and just ready for a break and will do the P-40 as painted when he owned it... I don't know if it's the lighting or what, but it looks to me like when Mr. Byrne had it the green looked darker... I can't remember who owned after him, but before Evergreen... It was in Air Classics a few times being flown by Fred Sebby... Thanks guys for your help...
Mike
