This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Ok folks, I'm about ready to start the photo contest, but I want to know if enough folks are interested to make it worth the effort. First off I only got a single responder to the judging call... not good. In fairness, I didn't bump the post or get anything done yesterday as I ended up flying to Shreveport and back and then had a nice dinner engagement with my family and some friends that kept me up past midnight.
So, I'm putting this poll up until Thursday. If I'm satisfied that there's enough response, the contest is on as posted on this thread:
http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... p?p=294844 and will start Friday. Remember that ANY photos taken this year will be eligible provided they meet the guidelines (since some of you may have already been shooting for that other contest that never materialized). I intend to make a separate thread in the photo section for each category.
I'm putting up an option for those who just don't like the rules I posted... in which case maybe someone else should sponsor the contest and I'm still happy to help with the judging and provide a few prizes if that's desired.

I think it would be fun and give something for everyone to fight over.
Just joking, I think there are lots of WIX members that would like to do it.

That HAS crossed my mind

.
Just remember if you vote negatively - but don't tell us why, don't complain later on if you don't like it.

Ryan if you need more prizes I'll toss in a disk of photos.

Thanks for the offer! I'll try to let you know something before we officially start. I'm thinking maybe the maintenance photo guys would appreciate such a prize.

I voted "Who cares". I enjoy most of the photos but having to watch a "This is better than that" hoo-ha doesn't exactly appeal to me.
(I know...I know...so don't watch.)

Well, I for one hope that - 1) We can avoid that attitude. and 2) It gets some people to thinking about that "one more shot" and brings a few more photos for WIX. I agree that those kinds of things can get out of hand.

Jack, knowing your collection, and how much work you put into it, that is a cool prize.

For crying out loud either post some photos and have your contest or just shut the whole thing down.
