Iwo Jima, What a freaking nightmare of an Island and what a nightmare of a battle.Of all of the insane,scary and nightmarish battles of WWII,I find Iwo to be at the top of the list.I cant even imagine what it must have been like.Tarawa is a close second.no battle is a picnic. Tim :shock:

The Carrier USS Bunker Hill had just returned to the fleet after a re-fitting
and participated in the Iwo-Jima assault. Aboard were some of the finest fighter pilots, including Archie Donahue, Dean Caswell, James Swett, as well as Rob Mears Uncle I believe.
