As The Wheels Of The Last Flight Of A North American P-51 Mustang Fighter Group Left The Ground On Take-Off On A Late Afternoon, Heavy Bomber Escort Mission Over Germany, The Strains Of The 'Star Spangled Banner' Sounded Through Loud-Speaders All Over The base. An alert photographer snapped this unusual photograph of ground crew members who were watching take-off, standing at attention in salute.
