My wife's aunt Violet Holmes passed away this morning.
We were very close...like a grandmother to us.

Ms. Violet was a Rosie the Riveter. She married a young man shortly before he went to serve as an infantryman in the US Army. (he landed at Anzio) He passed a few years ago...

She went to work building T-6 wing parts at North American near Waco, TX.

She was a lovely little lady (5ft tall read head!) with a huge heart.
She will be missed.

z, my thoughts are with you. it's a shame the rosies recognition came so late after the war, as they were the backbone of the homefront. feel better soon, tom

Zane,
My condolences to your families. We need to cherish every moment that each of us get with members of the Greatest Generation. If not for them, our lives might have been vastly more difficult.

Condolences to your families Zane. I'm married to a short redhead myself-they're pretty special.
