Maybe someone will find it in an abandoned hanger somewhere right next to the Short Stirling that was sent over there.
Still, interesting, and there has been some amount off warbird stuff came out of there in the past years. Who knows what is still to be found. Big country.
Back in 1979 I was sent by my commanding general to speak with Doug Arnold at Blackbush airfield to request his Lysander or Pup to take part in the AAC display. I got a full conducted tour of the place by him (but neither of the types we requested!) during the course of it he mentioned that he had located an Albemarle in Russia and he expected it would be in England during that winter or early spring 1980. Sadly that never happened but I often wonder about it. A 'mega-millionaire' (his own words) had no need to impress a soon-to-be-retired major!
