I recently visited the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California, while on vacation. I wrote a report about my visit and posted a few weeks ago…

The pictures are now posted on my webshots account at…

You will find that I have not yet included all of the captions yet. I will be doing so as time permits. There are a few pics where there are captions. It is for these airframes that I am looking for ID info, so please share if you can fill in the gaps. For the armor fans check out the last page in the album.
As for photography the PoF have varying conditions to work with. The complex consists currently of four hangers (one of which belongs to Fighter Rebuilders). Most often these hangers are open which allows, natural light to reach the aircraft near the main door. This is good, but if you are a visiting photographer be careful. Strong lighting from only one direction as in these hangers can make for underexposed pictures (if you depend on the internal light meter) and shadows where you least would like to see them. There is another hanger that is attached to one of the main four, which features their naval aircraft. The main doors of this hanger appear to be kept closed most of the time, so natural light is nil. In this case you may want to bring along a tri-pod, but there is a nice steel rail along the visitor walkway that separtes the visitors from the aircraft. It can substitute as a tripod if the tripod is just too awkward for you. Of course not all aircraft are indoors, a number are outdoors as well, and don’t forget to check the ramp!
Enjoy the photos.
Regards,
Mike
