The only info I was able to gather is its owned by a local pilot who bought it surplus and is not part of the Vietnam Museum that is local. Guy I talked to at the terminal didn't know the S/N. He did say that he painted it himself so maybe he's an ex T-bird?

ok since me and steve were talking earlier and he hasnt said anything about it nor has anybody else noticed... im going to point it out steve. any notice the blue painters tape towards the nose? :lol:

Four aircraft and their pilots were lost in a diamond loop in Jan. 1982. There are obviously more than six T-38 aircraft which served the Thunderbirds of course.

I highly doubt this is(was) a geeniewine T-bird, bird :wink: The owner chose to paint it as such and I have yet to find out why.

A three-ship T-38 display used to be located at the MN Museum of Transportation in Owatonna.

The interesting thing for me, when seeing the photo above, was that those T-38s were mounted with a similar type of structural support on the exhaust, same as #1 here.

Since the museum closed several years ago, could this be one of those T-38s?

I saw this new addition last month when there for my son's drifting stuff but I didn't notice the painter's tape either.....of course it is in a considerably taller place than me....LOL :roll:

Last I saw the plane before this "erection" it was lying on the ground up against a hangar in blue and gray camo scheme.....well I suspect it is the same as that one is gone.

Anybody know if the Huey is going down the road to the museum???

The camo scheme would then likely rule out an ex-Owatonna T-38, since those had T-Birds colors.
