Came home for spring break, it was on the way, why not?

I noted a few areas of wear this time around that I'm curious about:

Image
The rust streaks here don't make much sense on an aluminum aircraft. Is it possible they left the electronics in the bays, and that's what's causing this? Note also the sealant around the canopy lip is decaying.

Image
Condensation on the inside of one of the lights

Image
Access panel to the front of the right intake coming open

This one I'm most curious about. I'm assuming this is an engine drain panel, but what would cause all the crud up around it?

That might not be rust but something else like lubricants leaking or being washed out by water. Most likely it is rust and is coming from the steel fasteners holding on the panels. It is possible too that there may be some steel panels on the Voodoo. Depending on the design and its requirements steel does have its uses in structure on airplanes.

Where is this Voodoo, town? State? I too would make an edga-ma-cated guess that its the screws or more likely the screw "nutplates" that are leaking the rust . The light lens, condensation more or less normal if in a high humidty environment, moisture trapped inside likely. The last picture looks like "fungus" growing likely do to high humidty also, from water trapped inside?
The Canopy "seal" looks like bathroom or window caulk.

Firstly i was wondering if I could borrow your pics for inclusion on a voodoo page on facebook? I will credit you with them?

The rust from the avionics bay panels seems to be a chronic problem with Voodoo's that sit outside. I talked to one fellow that used to work on them about it. He explained that over time, water gets inside the panels and rusts out the lower fasteners and then drains down the exterior leaving rusty streaks. The dark patch in the one picture almost looks like mold??
The open p[anel is a bit of a concern as that will eventually lead to birds nesting inside if they havent done so already.

This is aluminium corrosion caused by engine oil , that oil is very hygroscopic and hold mositure, it probably even forms a mild acid. It will even eat through transmission cases, within 10 years it will eat through a 1/4" thick casing. I see this a lot here.

Yep

Take a look at the engine bay door area where that black is.. Alomost looks like a drain valve fitted inside the circular opening?
