Warbird Information Exchange

While bored the other day I decided to head up to RFD to take a look around and see if anything was out flying. I was going to take some pictures of the "mini boneyard" out behind North American Aviation but it was pouring at the time.

Has anyone seen what all is out there? If possible I'll head back that way this week and take some pictures. That is as long as it doesn't decide to pour on me again while driving up there. (don't want to make that trip too often otherwise I might lose my car in one of the potholes on the perimeter roads out there)

There is a B-26 Invader by the courier buildings (overall black) and then near the N.A. building, several MiG aircraft (would dare to say -15 and -17)

Same as you, when I drove by a few weeks ago, it was pouring....

Is this the area? I see 2 DC-3s, and what looks like an A-20.

nope that is Courtesy. If you go look south and west a little bit you will see where I am talking about. If you reach the DHL DC-9 you are too far south. There is one swept wing aircraft (most likely a mig/lim) and 2 straight winged aircraft that are complete. Also further north is a BAC-111 and a rough A-26.

They do look like a Mig, a T-33 and a Delphin.

and over to the N.E. off of FALCON Rd. are what look like a DC-3, maybe a B-23 and 3 T-6's around the silver domed hanger, under the clouds, hard to tell resolution only goes down to about 5000 ft. or so

Outside storage includes a T-33, 2 x MiG-15, MiG-17, Iskra, T-28 and some miscellaneous parts.

I see 2 DC-3s, one or two A-26, a few T-6s, and what looks like a F-86 then a T-33, and a Canadian tutor. Interesting I love these puzzles! More please!

I imagine the black A-26 is On-Mark N401Y which was for sale by Courtesy some time back. Anyone know if the plane was sold or withdrawn from sale?

Well, after another trip up to RFD today I can say for sure that 401Y is still there. Also as far as the "mini boneyard" goes next to where you see the mig in the google earth shot there is a pile of parts. Looks like there are at least 2 t-28 fuselages and several other parts that I didn't take the time to identify. I took some pictures but none of them turned out to my liking. I am far from a professional photographer (about as far opposite as you can get.)

I am sure that whatever you have will be liked on here man.
