Could that be a French camouflage scheme? Another thing is that adherence to camouflage schemes was not always as strict as might appear. It could be that the factory ran out of the appropriate paint and just substituted the closest shade they had.

This image was hot-linked from the Magnum website! I know for a fact that they care when an image from their collection is used without a license.

In case anyone doesn't know about Magnum, they are a photographic agency co-founded by Robert Capa and are very protective of photographers rights.

It is on another warbird forum if you must know where many uncredited pictures get posted for viewing... people there have no idea who took it or the credit

The paint scheme looks to me to be a classic RAF "Sand and Spinach" camoflauge. But then again they could be Dutch, Australian or even American impressed RAF aircraft as well. Would need some additional views.
