The interesting thing about that bird is that it has an afterburner installed. Note the extension to the exhaust. The A-4 only carries 900 gallons internally , so he probably had a short flight!

That's not an afterburner. The Israelis were among the first to be exposed to the SAM 7 Strella, a man portable anti aircraft missile. A-4s were particularly vulnerable to them so the Israelis extended the engine exhaust so that the SA-7 explosion was further away from the delicate bits.

A-4N, built new for Israel. Acquired by ATSI at Williams Gateway Airport, Phoenix, now leased by ATAC.

This A-4 is used by BAE Flight Systems and currently based at Wittmund, Germany. There are some more A-4 featuring different colours. The pictures below are examples done by Rob Hendricks, see his following sites:
