New build Bf 109

Hallo.

a little sensation. There is a small company that builds new Bf 109.
With the original plans and a lot of spezial maschines they will build complete airframes. The only thing the customer has to bring is the engine.

Seems they've worked on Red7 rebuilt.

History
It is not known for certain why Messerschmitt started the development of a radial engined 109. One theory is that in order to open up more export markets a 109 was developed that didn't utilize the strategically important DB 601 engine. Thus a version using the BMW 139 was developed. Another theory is that Messerschmitt wanted to compete with the FW-190 then in development and wanted to offer a fighter using the same BMW 801 engine. Only because this was not yet ready was a BMW 139 engined aircraft designed first.

What is for certain is that in 1938 the V-21, used for the development of the E-series was modified to take a BMW 139 engine, a copy of the Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp. A new forward fuselage was designed from frame no.6 forwards, enabling the fitting of the radial engine. A new full vision "bubble" canopy was fitted, similar to the canopy of the Me-262. The aircraft flew in 1939.

The second radial engined 109 was a modified F-1 airframe, fitted with a fuselage similar to the V-21 with the BMW 139 engine. The Me-109X used the BMW 801 however. The aircraft flew in September 1940 and was tested by the RLM. The RLM decided however that the FW-190 was performing well and that there was no need for a similar powered fighter. Therefore the program was ended in 1941.

I like it! The fuselage doesn't have that slab sided look with the round engine either.

I think it is not good talking about war. Warbirds are a piece of the technical history. Today a Messerschmidt can exist "next door" to a P51 or Spitfire and this is good.

The Bf 109 V21 had a P&W Twin Wasp with 1200hp.

A lot of engine with a very light airframe. Looks like the widened fuselage would have allowed for a bit more cockpit space, I understand it was a "snug" fit. What would that configuration do to the power to weight ratio? Performance?

Anyway, looks remotely like a ki-84, but I like the ki-84 better.

Here some further information. Please excuse my English is no more the best.
The two brothers who are the owners startet with a company for regular metal mechanics. Then they get infected by the 109-virus. And then they specialize on the 109. The first parts developed in the year 2000. They have a lot of cnc-mschines and what is much more important, they have the original drawings of the 109. So they were able to digitalize the parts, put them in a CAD-System and rebuild every part of the 109. The parts have an extemly high quality.
Help vor other 109-projects is mandatorily. After the landing-accident of the „red 7“ they helped with spare parts and with a mounting jig. They also produce spare parts fort the 109s of the Messerschmidt-foundation. After the landing-accident of the G-10 (Black 2), they have the wings and other parts for repair. After the second emergancy-landing of the „red 7“ they bulid spare parts, for example the sheets fort he oil-coolant-radiator.

The first series will be 7 aircraft.
The question is always the engine. For shure, one or two of the aircraft will get an original 605 engine.
