Grupul 9 adopted this Mickey Mouse emblem as their unit insignia. The emblem itself is a parody of Saint George killing the dragon. It was carried on IAR 80s and Bf 109Gs of that unit. It was also painted on lt.av. Horia Agarici's Hurricane featured below.

Disney actually assigned artists to do the design work for insignia as the requests started rolling in. I think the Axis use of the Disney characters probably wasn't sanctioned by old Walt !

I dunno which is more scary - using 'unauthorised' Disney characters or having Walt's 'support'.
There's a warbird out there with a Mickey not looking too happy on it, which I don't think the Corporation would be too pleased with...

Ahh you've heard of "Mad Mickey" then. Don't forget Disney also went to sea but it was usually Donald seen on ships.
