I tried to buy this a few years ago when the museum had listed it. I had to let it go because shipping it to Canada was a hassle.

This may be a stupid question but how rare is this? If I have to have one of these, which I do by the way, is this a good example?

THIS RARE ITEM WAS ORIGINALLY OBTAINED FROM A MUSEUM IN SCOTLAND. IT IS A FIXED PITCH WOODEN PROPELLER BLADE FROM A MK 1 SPITFIRE. THE ITEM IS IN TOTALLY ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH ORIGINAL MARKINGS ON THE OUTER CASING.THERE IS SOME DAMAGE AROUND THE BASE OF THE BLADE AS WELL AS DETERIORATION OF THE INNER WOOD IN THE SAME AREA.NONE OF THIS HOWEVER DETRACTS FROM THE AUTHENTICITY AND AURA OF THIS ITEM.HERE IS PIECE OF ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS AIRCRAFT IN HISTORY,AND A MUST FOR THE COLLECTOR OF SPITFIRE AND GENERAL AVIATION MILITARIA.

It's a Rotol blade, and looks to me like it might be from a Hurricane, but I'm sure someone more in the know than I can identify it for you.

Cheers

Paul

Thank you Paul.
It is still very interesting but because of my family history I would really love to have one from a Spit. That and a gunsight! :D
