All though some heavy fog for the last few days shutdown any flying for the traditional New Years Day fly-in at Schellville Antique Aerodrome (Sonoma CA) today, Chris Prevost helped to liven things up by bringing out his newly rebuilt/restored TP-40N for a taxi ride down the runway.
It obviously will be flying soon.

I think it looks really nice plain, without shark's teeth and such.

Of couse it must be said that I've never seen a P-40 I did not like...

No ear protection??? In Northern California there must be a million laws about such things...

That's exactly what a P-40 should look like. Beautiful restoration, thanks for sharing.

Thanks all.

Neal,

Since you asked, we were all wearing foam ear plugs and after a short taxi, Chris put on his headset to check out the radios..............

A joke, guys...

I love Northern California -- lived there for over 20 years. I still really miss it too, after being away for 16 years. And I'm the kind of guy who always ends up lifting the headphones periodically during all warbird rides and photo flights just to listen to the music.

It was just a silly joke taking off on the fact that Northern Cal has for years had a reputation for political correctness...
