P-47 Warbird Series

Sun Jan 04, 2009 2:47 pm

Found these 7 minute segments whist surfing You Tube. Really cool. Answers a couple questions I had about the launching from carriers and the concussion bombs used that I had mistaken for depth charges.

You guys have probably already seen most of this but if not, enjoy.

Thank you for the link. Has you can tell by my signiture I have a connection the the P47. In part #4 at 6:05 can anyone make out the aircraft letter on the yellow nosed P 51? The FT was the squadran code of the 345th FG 353rd FS and the gentelman that married my mothers sister many years later, (Woodfin Sullivan) flew FT*R. The nose art was "Brasier De Mort". I cannot read either the nose art or see if that plane was "R". Is there a way to "freeze frame" on youtube? Thank you. Hugh
