This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Seeing how 2008 is almost over with I figured it would be good to see a 2008 review in the way of photos taken this year at airshows, museums, roadside aircraft, recoveries, etc. Post what ya got. So I guess I'll start with some pics I took this year.

Nice pics Nathan. Seeing Glamorous Gal reminds me of when it was based here in Waukegan.

Nice shots, Nathan.
2008 was a great year for photography out here on the West Coast. Here are some of my favorites:
January 2008 over Upland
My very lucky catch from 10.5k feet
This one, from May, ended up on the cover of the Mentor Monitor
This one is the cover shot for my upcoming book
Chasing the Dream.
Sparky over the San Fernando Valley
Mustang over Ventura County
Trojans over Paso Robles (I LOVE this one)
Mentor over the Pacific

You didn't encounter any rogue pelicans on that photo flight did you?

Nope. We did actually climb to avoid one earlier this year though. Saw him coming and up we went. Knock on wood, we have been bird-strike free thus far.

You posted a couple of nice A2A shots as well. You've got a good eye for shots, so all you need is the right opportunity

You have a good eye. You come down here and pay a visit, and I will make sure you have the opportunity to shoot some air-to-airs. I will fly for you, and there are lots of subject airplanes to pick from.

2008 was a great year for me!
I got to meet Lee Lauderback and Muddyboots of WIX,
Talked with Bill Greenwood, Gordon Page, Col Fitzroy "Buck" Newsum,
Lt Lynn Daker,Lt Col James Harvey III the first TOP GUN.
Learned a great deal about aviation and got opportunities to take some photos in the Colorado area.
Except for getting attacked by a Hawk while waiting for "Barbie III" it was a very good year!
