Looks like the museum did a steller job on the front half of the airplane. Too bad that they only did the front half - maybe they don't have the room for all of the aircraft indoors so they could only restore the cockpit section?

It doesn't seem to matter how well you do with what you have or even how much or how little money you can spend, there is always a WIXer who will criticize your efforts and/or you results.

If this is in regard to my post it is unfounded. Having never nor will I ever insult anyone on an internet forum, its childish, serves no purpose, hurts the feelings of those whom in most cases you do no know, and is just downright rude.

Further I posted before and after photographs of the machine to display the excellent work the museum, which is tiny and on very limited funds has accomplished. To let you know of the financial state of the museum, volunteers pay dues to work on museum projects. As you have, we should all applaud one less bird will rot away.

Still to the point I had not noticed that a clock was installed twice on one panel until it was pointed out and wondered honestly as I have never been around a working breathing T-33 if that suction indicator is hard to come by. Some words mean just what they say.

Gary, unless you made your post to point out something that is not 100% perfect on a restoration by others, my factual statement was not aimed at you. Step back a minute and look at how often folks on WIX post zingers in threads here only for the purpose of saying, "I know you did not do this 100% perfect and I want all the rest who read this to know I found your shortcoming".

If I had a dollar for every gallon of JP-4 I ever pumped into a T-bird, I could afford one heck of a warbird, but I would not then be critical of the work of others who have participated in a restoration.
We can all love warbirds without giving anyone the finger for not having every detail absolutely perfect right down to a gnat's patootie.

Before this goes too far, I think the issue here is that Gary, you're not reading what's actually posted in this thread, much less what was said by the person in question here.

"ktst97" isn't speaking of your post in any way. I don't know what got in your craw to make you think it was, but it wasn't. The post was in reference to this -

Now, while Ken's is really an innocent question but can be taken wrong, "viking73"'s comments can definitely be taken as pure critism and not a question, and that I think is what got "ktst97" in a bit of a tangle.

Either way - the post still wasn't about you or your posts Gary. It was about what followed that instead of saying how good it looked as the restoration moved forward, they were instead finding the flaws first.

No, I wasn't being critical at all and I’m sorry if my comments came across that way. I was simply asking why the museum only restored the cockpit section of the airplane. That’s not a legitimate question? I even said what a good job they did if you read my post so how is that being a snub of someone’s hard work? "pure critism"? I don't think so...

I would never be critical of anyone’s efforts to preserve our history.

OK, guys, let me apologize for getting my knickers in an uproar over what I mistakenly thought was criticism of a restoration effort. I looked at those first photos, and thought that the amount of work and TLC that has gone into getting this T-bird back to its current condition was great. When I saw posts with praise and/or thanks for what they have accomplished, I
was in agreement. Then I became the victim of my misinterpretation of a couple posts...............
I will have my wife check to be certain that I'm not "off my meds" when she hears me hammering away at the keyboard after getting onto WIX.
Also, thank you, CAPFlyer, for your positive effort as mediator.

What other aircraft are at the museum? AH-1 and L-3 at least I think.

AH-1, and a few other parts/frames. I will send more pictures later. Space is really tight so photos are not too great. Will send this evening.
