..and if you go to any of the posts from Hill AFB museum, you can see just how far that B-24 has come since, the display when I was there in Sept included oroginal assemblies recovered from the site including an engine with a tortured prop, and cowling in 'as recovered' condition and other pieces of the original wreck. Across the aisle is the P-38 they recovered from another wreck in the Aleutians and part of that display is one very corroded away V-1710 again in 'as found' condition all of which I think adds a great deal to the history of the display and completes the total story of the airframe. If you are ever close to there, by all means go and see it you won't be disappointed! If you've never seen one, thay also have a Charles Taylor engine, what a touchstone that hunk of metal is......

Yea, great episode! I was so impressed with watching that P-61 recovery footage that I bought the DVD.
