I am sure there are others out there like me who would like to become involved in warbird restorations, but just don't know where to begin.

Having said that, do any of you fellow WIXer's know where a non-A&P guy could go in Colorado to volunteer on warbird restoration efforts? What's currently being worked on here? I'm new to the area and I've never worked on a restoration before of any type. But I'm very eager to get started, learn and help out as much as I can. I'm a very quick learner and besides my M-F 9-5 I'm very much available.

How do I get started? (I'm hoping maybe Bill G. will have some good advice)

Scott

Thanks Spanner!

I'll definitely sign up. The piles and oodles of cash will have to wait until student loans are paid off!! :?

I'm just excited to join the movement! I'm hopeful to make it down to TX sometime to check out the CAF Mothership

Despite the fact I hated Wichita Falls- I spent a couple months there at good ol' Sheppard AFB- I still have Texas on my short list because of warbirds and flying weather...

Not sure when yet, but sometime soon!

Funny you should mention TX vs. NJ Robbie...
I lived in NJ for 8 months but I wasn't "into" warbirds back then.
I am still sad that the Thompson "D-Day" Spitfire went to live in NJ.

But drop on by, sit a spell, take your shoes off (if your feet don't smell too funky) , y'all come back now y'hear?

This stuff really needs to be grouped into some kind of sticky, as the question gets raised repeatedly.

Here's some feedback from days gone by...
