Oh, and the Hurri is unusual for two reasons.

The DAS Flightline Bus was a neat idea. Pity they no longer run it.

Didn't the Hurricane have an entire firewall forward from a Mk.IX Spitfire on it? In the dark recesses of my memory I seem to remember reading that you had to keep the tail pretty low to keep from nicking the tips on takeoff.

Definitely not in this case.

That's one of the BBMF Hurricanes.

I don't think that MT719 was ever in Piece of Cake colours, I believe the third from last is ML417. That would make it 1988, Duxford Spitfire show (50th Anniversary of 19 sqn's first Spitfire service delivery)

Perhaps the second one is AR501?

Correct. Second is the six stub exhaust. Technically OK for a Mk.II, but most had three stubs, and it's representing a Mk.I. The problem was, IIRC there were NO (flying) Merlins with the three stubs in 1988; a good number now which is an improvement.

Ah, but perhaps they were trying to represent a Mk. V. Would six stubs then be correct? :P

I think mike is correct with AR501

The gap next to PT462 was where i think TB863/G-CDAN should be.

It was also around that weekend.

THe CWHM Hurricane that was lost in the hangar fire had the 3 stub exhaust and was flying in 1988.

Don't have a picture handy, but heres one from the CWHM site that advertises a new video they are selling.
