Actually, that is the UK branch of the Navy museum, they are preserving them for future generations.

I've never been a fan of planted "diver safe" wrecks of any sort.

I find them rather sterile and boring.

Those C-47s could have been much better utilized if they had sold them to Basler or something. At least they could have made a buck or two on the airframes.

I guess they are banking on tourist dollars making them more of a profit. Unfortunately I'd bet they could attract just as many "wreck divers" by sinking a couple of junk fishing boats. If the main intent was to create an artificial reef to support life, a few old concrete or steel sewer pipes and other cement rubble would work just as well.
