A friend of mine and co worker is trying to research his great Uncle who was a pilot in the China Burma india theatre. He has since passed, and he now has in wings and class ring from the USAAF. I am trying to help him research this as little is known. if anyone could help it would be awesome. He thinks he was a fighter pilot, but not 100% sure. His name was Richard Brandt. The class ring does not have a class number on it, so we aren't sure where to start. Thanks guys in advance.

Mustangdriver, can you narrow down the time frame at all? I did a quick pass through my James Reed books on the 33rd FG with the 58th, 59th, & 60th FS and don't see his name under the roster of awards and decorations. That's not saying much though.

My Pop was class of 43K (December 43 grad) from San Antonio. I can dig up his year books and look through them if this seems about the time frame.

Let me know if I can help.

I am working on that, but it looks like around 1943.

For fighter pilots, a search through the AFHRA aerial victories database can sometimes yield quick results. Unfortunately, there are no confirmed victories listed for a Richard Brandt.

Yeah, he thought he was a fighter pilot, but I am also not counting out cargo pilot. Really not much is known. He is working on anything that might help the search.
