Plug for my charity event in L.A.

Mon Dec 01, 2008 6:29 pm

I hope all of you don't mind my posting an invitation to my charity event this next weekend on here.
I am putting on a toy drive in conjuction with ABC7 and the firefighters Spark of Love toy drive. On Saturday Dec. 6th, at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, we will be collecting toys for the firefighters to deliver to needy kids for Christmas. I will have my horse scale set up and am offering a free weigh in exchange for a new unwrapped toy or sporting good from 8am to 4pm.
The response so far has been tremendous and it will be an exciting day.

For a little warbird content, since we are in the San Fernando Valley we often see warbirds fly overhead since the Burbank and Van Nuys airports are in the area. I have witnessed P-51, T-28, T-6, DC-3, B-25 and A-26 aircraft fly over the center. The former Grand Central Air Terminal is also close by and is worth a drive through to see the remaining hangars and buildings.

If you need something to do this weekend come on by and drop off a new unwrapped toy or sporting good. If you want to see a variety of horses there will be everything from miniature horses to our draft horses. There is also a dressage show that you can watch if you want to see some fancy riding.
