Grumman Goose from Beaver County Airport.

The other thread got me thingking. There used to be a Goose restored in WWII navy tri-color scheme that sat out at Beaver County Airport. It also carried the red surround on the national insignia. I was wondering if anyone knew whose aircraft that might be, and where it is today. I know this is a long shot.

When at Rostraver it was owned by Paul Prislac. Then to Beaver, I think to a guy named Bill Bietler (sp?). He was a pilot for US Air. Think he had a SF260, L-19, maybe some more aircraft as well.

Speaking of Beaver,

Do they still have the F-86 on a stick there?

They do, I just saw it the other day when I went to fly. The flight school I went to used to keep our planes on the flight line right next to it.

The Goose from Rostraver/Beaver, N93GS, s/n B-76, was in Scotland for a couple of years then came back into the country. It floated around New England for about a year and was finally sold to Pacific Costal Airlines and was given the Canadian registration C-GPCD. It crashed on August 3 with one survivor. They also lost another one this past week in Vancouver, BC. Sad ending.

C'mon Mustang Driver, you know that nothing is too much of a long shot for WIXer's! This is the place. RE my recent query about Spitfire MK297's ag spraying career.

I am sad to hear that two aircraft from my youth are gone. The Goose, and the Neptune. But you are right that WIXer's can find out anything. Thank you for the info.
