Hi folks,

I heard today that our buddy scott dennison did his first SOLO today!
He has now joined a list of several pilots in his clan getting solo experience in
the air, His father flew Jugs in WWII. Scott has always dreamed of flying
himself and made it his personal quest to get there.

Congratulations scott! great job. How much time? He'll have to fill
us in on all the details. He got it in the same Citabria that I got my tailwheel
in. He's probably so psyched he hasn't slept yet... :-)

Congrats scott! GREAT WORK! PROUD OF YOU! So are all your buds!

Henning

Congrats, Scott! You've got to show us a picture. It's been a long time since I soloed, but is the tradition still to cut out the back of your shirt and sign and date it or was that just a thing from the 70's?

I wish you well in your aviation hobby! Hope you have lots of cash to burn, though, as it is very expensive. :)

Congratulations indeed!

And well-done that you've managed it in a Citabria!

Congrats, I always say that my first solo was the most free I have ever felt.

Congrats! On a taildragger yet! You'll be ready for those "big muscled" warbirds in no time.

Way to go, Scott. Keep flying, practice a lot, and mostly use your head. We'd all enjoy reading about your experience and how and what you are learning.

Wow! I got beaten to the punch by Henning! You.re fast. Just posted an update under the "Old Fart" topic before I got down here. Pictures to come.

My many thanks to all you guys for the support, especially my squadron mates here at Kues but really to all of you guys! What a great bunch of friends to have.

I can't tell you what the feeling was when I lifted off and climbed to pattern altitude. Couldn't look over my shoulder but that back seat must have been crowded with Pop, his brother Norman (flight instructor killed in a weather related crash on his way to pin wings on my Dad at graduation), my grandfather and his brother, both early aviation pioneers.

I now know what many of you have experienced and trust me, it will remain in my mind and heart for the rest of my life.

Now to make them all proud with dedication and precise execution of teh duties of a PIC. 8)

Good job aviator, I flew solo in 1991, remember it like it was yesterday.
