Two Australian DC2 survivors - photos

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all

DC2s are very rare beasts indeed and 3 still survive here in Australia as well as the 4th one which left our shores a few years back and is I believe now in the Netherlands.

Two of the survivors were recently photographed by Tony Andrews on his Australian trip and I have placed photos of the machine currently at Tyabb and soon to go to Moorabin for restoration and display – a great outcome for all concerned as this machine has languished for quite a few years no following an abortive attempt to get it airworthy failed after the discovery of corrosion.

At Albury the machine long displayed on a pole has been taken down and moves are afoot to refurbish and display it in a more suitable environment. Although details are as yet unknown and no decisions are made it will also be great to see this rare survivor find a better display environment out of the elements.

The third Australian survivor is located in Sydney and its status is unknown although believed to be stored undercover.
