You're correct it's P-40M s/n 43-5795 RCAF AK845 N1232N but it's never been in a book. It's one of my dad's slides.
It was taken in the late 60s. This was one of a number of vintage a/c
saved by Jim Edwards a WWII RAF/AAF ace who ran Harrah's collection for many years. Jim also wanted a Typhoon, like he flew in 56 Squadron, for the collection but never found that one.

He'd have done well. The world's only (relatively) complete Typhoon was with the Smithsonian, before being kindly returned to the UK and the RAF Museum where it's on display. There's a cockpit section in the IWM collection at Duxford, and several people building up 'bitsas' but it's a way-too-rare type.

Great pic, Jack.

Just to be picky: This aircraft was ex RCAF 845. I don't think it ever carried an RAF style serial. The RCAF did receive AK845, but it was a P-40D equivalent originally ordered by the RAF. It received RCAF serial 1043 shortly after arriving in Canada.
